Stump Grinding vs. Full Stump Removal
Grinding takes the stump down below grade — out of sight, out of the way, and ready for landscaping. Full stump removal means excavating the entire root ball, which is significantly more expensive, more disruptive to your yard, and rarely necessary for residential properties.
We recommend grinding for 95% of residential jobs. Full removal is only worth considering if you're building a structure directly on the stump location and need the root ball completely gone.
